This Station was always a bit of a strange station. It was like a country station in the middle of London. Only feet away from one of London busiest stations. Up trains only used this side of the station and came out of one tunnel only to punch back into another. Its other half was on the other side of the main station and both half's must have been run as two stations?

 

 

I took only a few pictures of this station (did any one?) as there was always something better only feet away.

 

 

 

York Road station closed around 1976 it was used by up trains only from Finsbury Park station which then when underground and used the York Road Curve and City Widening Lines to Farringdon.

 

Down trains used the other side of the station coming up way of The Hotel Curve and using platform 16 at Kings Cross which was renumbered 14 at some time

Kings Cross railway station is one of the main London stations. The station is in the North of London. Trains run from here to the North East via the East Coast Main Line (ECML) to towns like Huntingdon and Peterborough. Then on to Grantham and Newark, Doncaster, York and Durham to Newcastle. Then into Scotland to Edinburgh were trains can go to rest of Scotland including Glasgow and Aberdeen. Trains also go to Cambridge and Leeds.

 

 

Kings Cross station is just to the east of St Pancras station, which is now the terminus for international Eurostar trains using High speed One which crosses the ECML just to the north of Kings Cross.
