Class 5 73129 comes into Swanwick Junction station

Class 5 73129 comes into Swanwick Junction station in 2005. 

This locomotive 73129 is a British Railways Standard Class 5. It was built at Derby in 1956.This is the only class 5 saved with the Carotti valve gear. It was sent by BR to Barry scrap yard in 1968.

As the name says this railway is all about the Midland Railway. Its main site is at Swanwick Junction, were it has a large collection of steam and diesel locomotives and about four or five signal boxes,and all sorts of bits and bobs.

Midland 156 Class 2-4-0 passenger locomotive number 158A is a Matthew Kirtley design. This locomotive was built at Derby in 1866. This is the oldest surviving Midland Railway locomotive.

This locomotive is a Robert Stephenson and Hawthorns Ltd 0-4-0ST built in 1954 which worked at the Castle Donington Power Station.
