Syston Junction Signal boxes
Syston South Junction signal box when it was open.
Syston South Junction signal box had been opened in 1911. It was to close on the 11th of April in 1987.

Syston Junction is to the north of Leicester. It is on the Midland Main Line between Leicester and Nottingham. Syston Junction is a triangular junction. Syston station has now been re opened but is not used by Peterborough Leicester trains or the Midland Main Line trains. It is only used by the local Leicester- Nottingham Trains to Melton Mowbray and Peterborough turn off the Midland Mainline here.
Syston North Junction signal box
Syston North Junction signal box opened in 1891. It was closed on the 11th April in 1987
This box was on a embankment with a road under bridge to the right.
The next large stations to the north of Leicester are Nottingham or Derby and to the south Kettering and Wellingborough and Bedford and The east Peterborough and to west Birmingham |
