DMUs at Kings Cross
DMU comes out from a fume filled Gas works tunnel.
A DMU comes out from a fume filled Gas works tunnel. These tunnels were filled with fumes from this and all the other trains that had used it be for. All this pollution and fumes hung about long after each train had gone, by which by the time, another train filled them again.
This DMU was going into the tunnels at Kings Cross to make yet more fumes
Kings Cross Suburban station in BR days was a very quite place during the day
These DMUs were not as nice as todays EMU's.
Kings Cross station is just to the east of St Pancras station,St Pancras is now the terminus for international Eurostar trains using High speed One which crosses the ECML just to the north of Kings Cross.
Kings Cross station is one of the main London railway stations. The station is in the North of London. Trains run from here to the North East via the East Coast Main Line (ECML) to towns like Huntingdon and Peterborough. Then on to Grantham and Newark, Doncaster, York and Durham to Newcastle. Then into Scotland to Edinburgh were trains can go to rest of Scotland including Glasgow and Aberdeen.
