34081 is a Southern Railway 4-6-2 Battle of Britain class named 92 Squadron This engine was built in 1948. It was designed by O.V.S Bulleid. It's build was started under The Southern Railway, but was completed in 1948, by which time the railways had been nationalised. It was named in 1950 after the highest scoring squadron in The Battle of Britain during WW2. 110 of this class of steam locomotive were made.
This locomotive went to Ramsgate MPD. In 1957 it went to Exmouth Junction, before it was withdrawn in 1964. During it working days it kept it chain drive and its air smoothed casting as it is today.
This locomotive was one of the engines that ended up at Woodham Brothers scrap yard at Barry. This scrapyard had also 1000s of wagons being sent their for scrapping. It was decided, to cut up the wagons first, and leave the steam engines for a while. This is what gave the time to save, this engine and a lot more .
In 1973 34081 was saved by the Battle of Britain Locomotive Society. They decided to bring it to the NVR.
The years passed by while a full overhaul and some very hard work was needed. After nearly 30 years of work on the engine ,a lot of which was done out in the open, in 1998 it was re steamed again . She then entered service on NVR on the 19th May 1998 and was one of the NVRs main engines till it moved away to the North Norfolk Railway.
In (2014) 34081 was out of ticket and was waiting its second full overhaul since it came out of Barry. This was not be at the North Norfolk Railway and it came back on the NVR. Its was not to be too long be for 92 squadron was to back in steam on the NVR again. Photo of 34081 back at Wansford in 2010 34081 is now back in steam

Swedish Class B 4-6-0 number 101A
Swedish Class B 4-6-0 number 101A is at the Nene Valleys Peterborough station in 2002
The Nene Valleys Peterborough station is only a few hundred yards from the city centre. It is tucked away behind the East Coast Main Line railway river bridges and is next to the River Nene. if it were not for the factory behind the station you could be in a village. Many Peterborough people do not even know its here. It is next to Railworld.
This Swedish 4-6-0 Class B No. 101A was withdrawn in January 2005 and is now stored and hopefully awaiting it turn for an overhaul some time.
